New Era Secondary School (NESS) adopted the new National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) syllabus in 2007 and became affiliated with the CBSE in 2008. The primary purpose for taking this direction was to raise the level of learning and inculcate the all round development of the rural students of Aikiyam (then New Creation Bilingual School) and After School (now NESS). We have fulfilled it by adopting one of the best educational programs available in the country.
In 2009 we had our first graduating class of seniors. Of the group of eight students, seven passed all examinations and received the CBSE National Examination Certificate. They all were easily enrolled in colleges and two of them won gold medals in their subjects. Three of our graduates also received private scholarship grants from friends of Auroville in India. From then on, there is no looking back. A passionate team dedicated to a progressive, innovative and better education has been putting in their best efforts over the years; as a result NESS has attracted more and more socially deprived rural children to its campus.
