NERIM, North Eastern Regional Institute of Management is a Post Graduate College established in the year 1992 by NERIM Educational Society. The Department of Technical Education, Government of Assam, initially extended its active support for the establishment of this institute with a view to promote Management and Computer Education in the North Eastern Region of the Country. The Prime objective of the institute is to design and formulate need based academic and professional programmes independently as well as in collaboration with other leading Management Institute and Universities. From the very inception, NERIM has been imparting teaching and training to the young educated people in the skills that find ready employment in an era of high unemployment and career uncertainty. Rajendra Hospital Patiala was named after the Maharaja Rajendra Singh (1856–1900) of erstwhile state. The foundation was laid down byMaharaja Yadvinder Singh on 15th April 1950. Government Medical College,Patiala was started on 29th September, 1953 at Patiala, the capital oferstwhile Pepsu State, at that time a separate State from Punjab, under theGovernment Of India President’s rule . This was the first Medical College inPepsu State with a population of over 20 lacs. The Rajendra Hospital, Patiala, wasunder construction when the college started. The foundation stone of thecollege building was laid by Dr. Rajendra Parshad then President of India on21.12.1953. The opening ceremony of Rajendra Hospital, Patiala was performed bythe Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, in 1954.

It started as a 500 bedded hospital and presently it houses1009 bedded in Rajendra Hospital Patiala and 121 bedded in T.B.Hospital,Patiala. The T.B.Hospital, Patiala has been designated as Zonal Task ForceCentre of North India for involvement of Medical Colleges in RNTCP. TheHospital is also working as State T.B.Training and Demonstration Centre for theState of Punjab and U.T.

Apart from Basic/Clinical departments some super specialty departments are also functioning. Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, ICCU arefunctioning in Medicine Deptt. and Urology, Pediatrics, Surgery, PlasticSurgery, I.C.U are also functional. Psychiatry Deptt.of this Institution has been upgraded. In addition to itDe-addiction Centre, ART Centre /EDUSET, Telemedicine, I.T.Cell are alsofunctional. Patna Art & Craft College

This college was established on 25 January 1939 on a Saraswati Puja day at Govind Mitra Road, Patna by Late Shri Radha Mohanjee. The first President of India Deshratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad was the first member of the Management Committee of the college. In 1949, Govt. of Bihar took the control of the college as Govt. School of Arts & Crafts for conducting Five-year Diploma course. In 1957, the school was transferred into its newly constructed building including Student’s Hostel at Vidyapati Marg, Patna. In 1972, it was renamed as Govt. College of Arts & Crafts. On April 12, 1977, the college was handed over to Patna University and Diploma course was converted into Degree course.

The University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) which is now situated close to the Physics and Chemistry Departments houses a number of sophisticated and high-end research instruments. These instruments are used quite frequently by Teachers and Research Scholars of postgraduate departments of the University as well as by many other institutions in Delhi and its neighbourhood. The University has recently laid fibre-optic network in the North and the South Campuses connecting all colleges and departments.

When the University of Delhi expanded in many directions to keep pace with a rapidly growing city, South Campus was established in 1973 to facilitate access for the residents of South Delhi. It moved to its present location on Benito Juarez Road, near Dhaula Kuan, in 1984. The Campus is now spread across 69 acres of green, hilly terrain and its buildings blend attractively with the natural surroundings. The various departments are located in the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Inter-disciplinary and Applied Sciences. S.P. Jain Centre for Management Studies is also located at the South Delhi Campus. Besides these, the Campus has a good library, a Health Centre, a Bank, a Post Office, DTC Pass Section and administrative and examination blocks.
