With the introduction of private operators in the schedule as well as non schedule operations, number of job opportunities in the field of Aircraft maintenance have increased during the last couple of years. Demand is going to rise in coming years too. Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s are playing a very responsible role in Aviation by ensuring that the Aircraft is in airworthy condition for the flying. Due to the safety requirements, they need to have a high level of personal integrity, commitment to accuracy and upholding of standards. One has to obtain an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s licence for which he is required to pass various Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s licence written examination and Oral-cum-Practical Test conducted by Director General of Civil Aviation, Government of India, New Delhi.
Punjab Aircraft Maintenance Engineering College (PAMEC), Patiala was established in 1980 by the Punjab Government to impart Ab-intio training in the field of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. The institute was approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation and AICTE and Technical Teachers Training Institute, Chandigarh respectively. The institution aim is to impart the training to students in the field of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering for obtaining Basic Licence.
The Institute is on the very fast track to obtain its scope of approval in Heavy Aircraft and Jet Engine along with its present scope of approval after completing all the basic requirements as per the conditions lay down by director general of civil aviation.
